Better Choices Better Health

Better Choices, Better Health helps adults of all ages and caregivers manage the symptoms of chronic diseases and any other physical and mental health conditions. This evidence-based program is held virtually and in person throughout the state.  

Bingocize

Bingocize is a health promotion program that combines the game of BINGO with fall prevention exercise.  

Enhance Fitness

EnhanceFitness (EF) is a low-cost, evidence-based group exercise and falls prevention program that helps older adults at all levels of fitness become more active, energized, and empowered.

Healthy Life Stars

Healthy LifeStars is a national non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood obesity through education, awareness and changed habits to influence future generations of healthy children. Sessions use interactive lessons, activities, and family engagement strategies to build knowledge, improve nutrition and physical activity behaviors, and support long-term healthy lifestyle habits. The innovative program goes beyond nutrition and physical activity guidance by combining goal-setting and personal responsibility to build the skills necessary to adopt and maintain healthy habits for life. 

Healthy Steps for Older Adults

Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) is an evidence-based fall risk screening and education class for adults aged 50 and over. This program consists of two 2-hour workshops focused on fall prevention, covering topics such as proper footwear, safety at home, good nutrition for bone health, and the importance of exercise. Participants will also learn at-home exercises to improve strength and balance.  

Live Well - Prevent Diabetes

Diabetes Prevention Program – for adults (18+) at risk for prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. A year-long lifestyle change program consisting of 22 sessions, focused on achieving weight loss and increasing physical activity. For individuals with a family history of diabetes, prior gestational diabetes, overweight/obesity, sedentary habits, or A1C/blood glucose levels in the prediabetes range. 

Mindful Mobility

Above and Beyond Cancer is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive survivorship support through physical activity, wellness, and community programs. Mindful Mobility (formally called Yoga4Cancer) is a practice based on research in oncology, taught by a trained & certified teacher. This class is open to all cancer survivors in any chapter of their journey. Expect to be in poses on hands, knees, and standing (including balance poses). This class promotes breath to movement flow.

This is a small group personal training class that will focus on individual coaching to improve strength, mobility, and balance.  

Row + Renew

Above and Beyond Cancer is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive survivorship support through physical activity, wellness, and community programs. Row + Renew is a land rowing class for cancer survivors. This evidence-based program is for building total body strength, improving balance, mobility, and building community and confidence.  

Self Directed Walk With Ease

Walk With Ease is an evidence based program developed by the Arthritis Foundation that runs for 6 weeks and is offered in both in person and self directed (virtual/hybrid) formats. It features stretching and strengthening exercises, safe walking strategies, goal-setting and motivational tools to reduce pain, increase balance, strength and walking pace. 

SHARE for Dementia

An evidence-based care-planning program that empowers adults with early-stage dementia and their families to get the most out of today while planning for tomorrow. 

Stepping On

Stepping On is an evidence-based evidence based community fall prevention workshops for older adults living independently. You will learn to: identify and remove fall hazards from your home, to see and avoid fall hazards in the community, to get back on your feet the right way after you fall, how vision and hearing affect your risk of falling, to use walking aids the right way, to choose safe footwear for all your activities, strength and balance exercises you can adapt to your individual level, and how medications play a role in your risk of falls. You will also meet with physical therapists, occupational therapists, vision specialists, and pharmacists who help you avoid fall hazards, make your home safer, and make your body stronger. Stepping On is not designed for older adults who use a walker indoors or a wheelchair full time OR who have dementia or cognitive impairment. 

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention - In Person

Tai Chi for Arthritis + Falls Prevention - an evidence based program designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility and reduce fall risk in older adults with or without arthritis. The program is offered in two formats: 8 weeks with two 1 hour sessions per week, or 16 weeks with one 1 hour session per week and can be delivered in person or virtually. 

Total Training for Cancer Survivors

Above and Beyond Cancer is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive survivorship support through physical activity, wellness, and community programs. Total Training is a small group personal training class for Cancer Survivors in any chapter of their journey. This class is taught by a Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer and includes; goal setting, nutrition wellness coaching, cardio, weight resistance training, stretching and breathing techniques. The class is tailored to fit the needs of each individual in class. This class is FREE and registration is required. 

Urban Pole Walking Group

Above and Beyond Cancer Programs is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive survivorship support through physical activity, wellness, and community programs. This is an evidence-informed walking program that incorporates specially designed poles (e.g., Urban Poling Activator® Poles) to engage the upper body, improve balance, increase stride length, and reduce stress on hips and knees during walking. Session length and format vary by instructor and location, and classes can be held indoors or outdoors or done self-directed.  

Virtual Tai Chi
